Friday Night Lights

The Santa Anna Mountaineers were off last week before starting district play Thursday October 35th at Mountaineer Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30.

The 2-5 Mountaineers will face the 4-3 May Tigers this week. The Tigers are ranked 35th in Division 1 (60th overall) and the Mountaineers 68th in Division 1 (176th overall).

The Tigers are picked by 45 points according to so it may be a tough district opener.

Friday Night Lights

The Santa Anna Mountaineers lost to the Blackwell Hornets in last weeks game 50-0. I went to the game but due to the rain and technical difficulties did not take any photos.

The 2-5 Mountaineers will get a break this week before starting district against May next week in Santa Anna.

I did finally get past some of the technical trouble I have been having and got the Blanket Game photos rounded up and here are some of my favorites:

Friday Night Lights

The Santa Anna Mountaineers lost to the Blanket Tigers in a Homecoming game 59-12 last week. I went to the game and took a lot of pictures but I am having some technical dificulties so it may be next week before I get them posted.

The 2-4 Mountaineers will face the 6-0 Blackwell Hornets this week in Blackwell with kickoff set for 7:30 on Friday October 12th at Blackwell. The Hornets are ranked 4th in Division 2 (14th overall) and the Mountaineers 68th in Division 1 (175th overall).

The Hornets are picked by 45 points according to so it may be a long way home!

2018 Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally

I finally am getting some of the technical problems taken care of. My web server and home computer are running out of space so I had to reorganize. On the web server I had to delete some old Archives from 2004, 2005, and 2006 to make room for new photos.

Happy 18th birthday to Domanic Enriquez. Time has gone so fast and You have grown into such an awesome young man!! I am so proud of you and the man you are becoming!!! Keep up all the great work. I love you so very much!

2018 Homecoming


SAHS Ex-Student of the Year from the Class of 1968- Ted Ford

Ted was born in Brownwood Texas to James and Mildred (Wagner) Ford. He was raised in Santa Anna, except for a brief stint in Ponca City Oklahoma, graduating from Santa Anna High School in 1968. He married Diana (Blackwell) in 1970 and the couple have two sons, Scotty and Brent.

Ted attended Tarleton State College majoring in Agricultural Education obtaining both the bachelors and masters of Science degrees. He then attended Texas A&M University earning his PhD. In Vocational Education. Ted accepted a teaching appointment at Tarleton State University in the Fall of 1974 and continues there today having served in various capacities ranging from Instructor to Professor as well as the Associate Dean for the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences. Here he has been recognized with the Dick Smith Teaching award as well as the Presidential Award of Merit for his service to the University.

In addition to teaching Ag classes he is very active in State and National FFA activities for which he has been awarded both the Lone Star and American Honorary degrees. He also serves as a Superintendent and Director for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo as well as a Superintendent at the State Fair of Texas and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Ted is involved in his local community as well as a member of Cornerstone Church and as a past board member for Lingleville ISD, Erath County Appraisal Board of Directors and as a Director for the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce.

Coming Home Queen Class of 1998 - Kristen Keeney Donham

This yearís Coming Home Queen is Kristen Keeney Donham. She is the daughter of Roy Keeney and Glenda Keeney. Kristen attended all 13 years here in the Santa Anna School system, graduating in the Class of 1998. While in High School, she participated in a myriad of activities. She was a Cheerleader, played Volleyball, Basketball, participated in Track, One Act Play, was a member of the student council, and FFA.

Kristen is married to Glen Donham(Class of 1994), and has three beautiful daughters, Alexis(Class of 2018), Adalee a Sophmore, and Avery a Freshman. IN 2003 she followed her husband to Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA. There she worked as a teachers Aide at Akers Elementary School for 6 years. Following that she worked as an assistant property manager for Lincoln Military Housing ensuring that our military families were adequately housed and taken care of when their spouses were deployed. After her husbands retirement from the United States Navy in 2016, Kristen and her family returned to her roots here in Santa Anna. She is currently the Santa Anna High School secretary, where she has been for two years. She is the Cheer Sponsor, Yearbook Advisor and has been involved with the Santa Anna Booster Club. In her spare time, she enjoys watching her daughters participate in athletics, and spending time with family and friends.

Coming Home King Class of 1998 - Aaron Guthrie

Aaron is the son of Lane and Sharon Guthrie of Santa Anna. After graduating as Salutatorian of the Santa Anna Class of 1998, Aaron went on to graduate with a Bachelorís of Science degree in Construction Engineering from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Aaron spent 9 years in the Engineering Industry and now lives in Argyle, TX with his wife and two stepsons and has spent the last 7 years working in management for Brammer Pipe & Steel and Pro Well Service. Outside of work, Aaron successfully makes his own wine named Roots, and is looking forward to getting back to his roots in his very own Santa Anna home that is almost finished with construction.

Friday Night Lights

The Santa Anna Mountaineers defeated the Mullin Bulldogs in a great game 54-48 last week. I went to the game but the stadium lights there are not very good with my old camera so I didn't get any pictures.
