Looking to finish out pre-season with a win, the SA mountaineers traveled to Blackwell last Friday night and did that very thing. They came away with an impressive win 75-28 ending the game with about 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Leading the Mountaineers on the offensive side of the ball were seniors Jacob Herrod and Guy Watts. Both had great runs for big gains and both threw the ball well. Joe McCall, Blaine Beal and DJ Mattes had some great catches and runs in the game as well. Defensively, the Mountaineers were led by Blaine Beal, DJ Mattes and Joe McCall. McCall had 3 INTís and one ran back for a TD. Both offense and defense were doing things well and the whole team played great. The mountaineers are open this week and look forward to opening district play against Veribest next Friday at home. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
