Lt. Col. Jim Robinett
Lieutenant Colonel Jim Robinett passed from this Earth on May 30, 2018, in Durango, Colo.
He is survived by his wife, Jean, of Durango, and step-son T. Sines of Woodland, Calif.
Also surviving is the mother of his children, Elizabeth Robinett, and son-in-law, Joe Klein; three grandchildren, Alisha Griffin, Marshall Klein and Samantha Klein; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Robinett and wife, Donna, of Brady; and a sister, Maurine Griffin of Austin.
His son, Lee Marshall, and daughter, Lisa Marlene Klein, preceded him in death, along with a sister, Mary Dunn, and brother, Robert Robinett.
Jim was born Dec. 13, 1935, in Coleman County. He attended Santa Anna Schools and graduated from high school. While in high school he joined the National Guard. He was in the Guard in Santa Anna and Brady for nine years. He obtained the rank of lieutenant and in 1961 went on active duty to several Army training courses including jump school. He had six years of foreign service and received many medals of commendation including National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat infantry Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star. He also participated in two Vietnam Counter Offensives, II Phase and III Phase.

Memorial services will be held June 23 at 11 a.m. at Santa Anna Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home.
