SANTA ANNA FEATURED IN REGIONAL GUIDE

Santa Anna is one of 42 communities featured in the 2012 Texas Midwest Guide. The 17th edition of the annual publication is now in circulation and showcases quality of life and points of interest in the region. Participation in the regional marketing guide is sponsored by the Santa Anna Economic Development Corporation.

The Texas Midwest Guide includes community information, attractions, recreation, lodging, regional calendar of events, unique shopping and dining opportunities and much more information about the Texas Midwest region. Distribution of 70,000 copies goes to Texas Travel Information Centers along the State’s borders, chambers of commerce, CVBs, hotels & motels and advertisers throughout the region.

Rain

I tried to pour out my rain gauge but it was frozen like a popsicle!

There was a little over two inches of ice in both my gauges so I will claim two inches of rain over the last several days.

Benefit for William Heath

The youth of First Baptist Church Santa Anna will be hosting a luncheon to benefit William Heath, husband of SAHS science teacher Jan Heath, on Sunday, December 4 at 12:00 p.m. at the C.L.C. at the First Baptist Church. The menu is chopped brisket sandwiches, beans, potato salad, chips and dessert. The cost is by donation and everyone is encouraged to support the Heath family in this event.


HELP WITH COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID

On Monday, December 5, Santa Anna ISD will host a college financial aid presentation of information on the process that you and your child are beginning now. The workshop, in the SAISD library at 6:30 p.m., will be relevant to all levels of education, technical school, trade school, or four-year University. Topics to be addressed include the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, scholarships, loans and the loan procedure, and financial aid scams. The program should last approximately one hour, with time for individual help and/or questions to follow. Refreshments will be provided.

This workshop information will be applicable to any school, university, or training program after high school. It will be especially helpful in reference to the Pell Grant application, which is the common starting point for all financial aid. Also information will be available concerning area colleges and universities. If you have questions about this important workshop, please contact the counselor at 348-3136, during school hours.
